Thursday August 31, 2017 was the first Boys Tennis match of the season against Air Academy High School, and it was a thrill from beginning to end. It took place at our own Centennial High School Courts from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, and everyone there was excited about the new season starting. There are definitely high expectations for this season considering how successful the boys were last season, and as no surprise, the boys came out with a dominant victory. Similar to every year, Thursday was just the introduction and first glimpse into the Boys Tennis promising season ahead.

The Bulldogs had an early lead and advantage early on in all the matches, and they continued that momentum throughout the rest of the matches. All positions ended in victory, except for 3 doubles, while 4 other doubles resulted in a total crushing of 6-1 and 6-2 to Centennial’s advantage.  Jacob Lewis and Jarett Nakamura triumphed in their doubles match and won 6-1 as well. Being two of the most experienced boys on the team, as well as some other seniors and juniors, they had to be sure to make a steadfast approach and impression on how they want this Fall season to be this year, and they did exactly that.

As you can see, the leadership on this Centennial Boys Tennis team this year has the ability to lead the team to a winning season, as well as through SCL playoffs. With three matches under their belt, the boys are currently undefeated with a record of 3-0 after dominating against Canon City and Pueblo County High School. This 2017-2018 Fall season for this team promises to be a good one, so make sure to go out and support your fellow Bulldogs and cheer them to victory all this season!
