Last Friday, at Earl Dutch Clark Stadium, the Centennial Bulldogs suffered a loss in their season opener against the South Colts, falling 35 to 0.
South displayed a dynamic offensive attack with scoring plays from Steve Brock, Marcell Barbee, and Thomas Pannunzio. Centennial struggled to limit impact plays and the momentum swung heavily in South’s favor.
Although Centennial failed to get on the board, Jaydon Morales was a lone bright spot for the Bulldogs with 3 catches for 28 yards, while Patrick Gonzales displayed grit and toughness in his offensive attack.
New head coach at Centennial, Jeff Wilkerson, cited discipline as the main lesson he wants his players to learn from their season opening loss. “We’re working on being a more disciplined football team and doing a better job overall,” Wilkerson said. “For Dakota Ridge this week, we need to start fast.”
Centennial plays Dakota Ridge tomorrow night, September 7th, at Dutch Clark Stadium.
