Going into this last game 1-8, the Bulldogs wanted to make sure to leave it all on the field for the last game of the 2017 season. The seniors were honored before their last game as a Centennial Bulldog football player on November 4, 2017 and shortly after, the game began.
The Bulldog defense was able to hold the Kadet offense from scoring for a number of drives, until Air Academy broke through and found their way to the end zone. As the game continued on, the Bulldogs were unable to slow down Air Academy, and the Kadets dominated throughout the first half. The second half was no different as they continued to score and outshine the Bulldogs. Late in the game, Centennial Running Back Buddie Niccoli was able to escape to the end zone, with the two-point conversion also being good, putting up points on the Bulldogs behalf. As time ran down, Centennial wasn’t able to put up any more points, and the final score of the game was 50-8.
Throughout the season, the Bulldogs have had to overcome many obstacles as a team as many starters and key players faced injury. With many of them being seniors, younger players were put in and different changes in positions had to occur. The 2017 season may have not been what the boys wanted it to be, but next season is promised to be a good one with many experienced seniors leading the team, and a whole new attitude and energy ready for new season.
