The breakthrough star, Timothee Chalamet, leading actor of the film adaptation, ‘Call Me By Your Name’ written by Andre Aciman, has overwhelmed the entertainment industry with his unbelievably raw talent. The film just began as a showing at Sundance, expected to be a small indie film, transformed into an Oscar buzzing masterpiece. At the ripe age of 22, he has had the chance to star alongside stars such as Saoirse Ronan, Armie Hammer, Christian Bale and has had the opportunity of working with well acclaimed directors like Greta Grudwig and Luca Guadagnino in his very first films, he has proved to the world that his talents are remarkable and undeniable. Chalamet grew up in Hell’s Kitchen, New York, but spent his summers in France because his father, Marc Chalamet, was born and raised in Lille. The arts flow through his families veins. His mother, sister and uncle all went to LaGuardia and his grandfather, Harold Flender, screen wrote for Sid Caeser. His mother, Nicole Flender, was a former Broadway dancer and his sister, Pauline, currently pursues her acting career in Paris. Timothee’s early works include, small roles in ‘Law & Order’, ‘Loving Leah’, ‘Homeland’, and even playing, Nicholas Clarke, in the Off- Broadway play, ‘The Tall’. His acting varies He debuted his film career in ‘Men, Women and Children’. Chalamet has had the chance to work infilms like ‘Lady Bird’, ‘Hostile’, ‘Miss Stevens’ and ‘Interstellar’, most of which are critically acclaimed. Just 4 years ago, Chalamet was an aspiring actor who graduated from Manhattan’s LaGuardia performing arts high school and now he is receiving awards left and right.  In just the small span of two years, Timothee has gone from

being the Sundance rising star to the newest and brightest Hollywood actor. He has won awards like New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actor, Gotham Independent Film Award for Breakthrough Actor and has a massive amount of Golden Globe and Oscar nominations. His personality and energy shine through in his interviews. The abrupt path to fame, has caught him just as much off guard as it has us, but he has kept his head on his shoulders. It’s clear that he hasn’t let any of the fame and attention get to his head, as he seems to get star struck every time he attends an award show. His success is sudden, but well deserved.
