The Bulldogs are now 2-1 after playing the Harrison Panthers on September 14 for our 2018 Homecoming Game. Dutch Clark was packed with Centennial fans and at 7:00 PM, the game went underway.
Harrison came out strong right off the bat with their offense giving our defense a run for their money. They scored during their first offensive drive and continued to outplay our Bulldogs throughout the first half. As second quarter came to an end, the Panthers were leading 14-0, and both teams headed to the locker rooms to prepare for the second half.
During halftime, our 2018 Homecoming court consisting of Bailee Philips, Dante Bartolo, Jillian Kelly, Cole Hernandez, Molly Mondragon, Matthew Mondragon, and Queen and King Jocelyn Lerma and Nick Ponce were honored. Marching Band and Dance Team also performed, and as halftime winded down, the boys took the field again to warm up for the second half.
Throughout the second half, the Bulldogs continued to struggle and put no points on the board. Fumbles, interceptions, incomplete passes, and short running plays were consistent problems for the boys this time around, and our defense wasn’t able to put a stop to the Panthers. The game ended with a score of 21-0, resulting in the Bulldogs first loss this season. They play Kent Denver this Friday at 6:00pm hoping to find redemption and victory from last week.
