The English pop-rock band, The 1975, have released their third studio album. The album was released on November 30, 2018. The band has decided to give themselves a bit of a new brand while making their album cover completely different from the previous two albums.

A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, the highly anticipated album has finally been released. The band had been leaving continuous teasers relating to the new album for quite some time through their Instagram and Twitter accounts. Continuous heartwarming, and more often than not, heartbreaking articles were released by the band to prepare listeners for their new era. The band’s new music is an obvious way to show the everyone how the world of social media and the new creations of this generation have affected young people today in a negative space. The band had released five singles from the album earlier than the release date: “Give Yourself a Try”, “Love It If We Made It”, “TooTimeTooTimeTooTime”, “Sincerity Is Scary” and “It’s Not Living (If It’s Not with You)”.

The 1975’s third studio album “A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships” cover.

Upon the album’s official release, the album received critical acclaim, with some critics comparing the album to Radiohead’s OK Computer, and debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart. The band will embark on a world tour starting in January 2019. The full album consists of 15 songs. Many celebrities within social media ironically shared their love for the album and its stories. With Matthew Healy as lead vocals, guitar, and keyboard, Adam Hann on guitar and keyboard, Ross MacDonald on bass guitar, and George Daniel on the drums, we get to experience the art of The 1975’s newly released album.

Personally, I have not come across any negative reviews on the album, which is shocking, due to the band’s now clear open opinion on some touchy subjects within the media. This goes to show the band has approached the idea of their personal experiences within the “destruction” of modernity in way that all listeners can relate.

So, in conclusion, modernity has failed us. This album has covered lead singer Matt Healy in his own tears when sharing his sense of heartbreak while performing the new music. The band has found that their emotions on the modern society have been earned, not just loudly stated on social media. The phrase “Modernity has Failed Us” is a phrase you will see continuously during the promotion of the album. The album is intense but, you will not regret listening to The 1975 and their newest rendition of themselves throughout A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships.
