From the wizarding world of Harry Potter, author J.K. Rowling and creators of the film “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” released its sequel “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” on November 16, this year. The film stars Newt Scamander, played by Eddie Redmayne, and his journey to go back to America. In the previous film, we see Newt make quite a mess of New York while trying to “save the world”. This resulted in him being banned from traveling to America ever again. But, we see the famous Dumbledore, request that Newt finds a way into America, no matter the cost. The film consists of Dumbledore’s childhood friend, Gellert Grindelwald trying to cause some damage in the world of Newt Scamander. We see Dumbledore consistently deny fighting against him due to a blood oath he made with him as a child. They promised to never hurt each other. Grindelwald held the blood in a small tube with him everywhere he went, knowing that if the oath still existed, Dumbledore would not fight. This has lead me to believe that Grindelwald does this because he knows that Dumbledore is too powerful for him to fight against.

As much as viewers love seeing the cute, fictional creatures come to life within the films, we also see capturing, and loss within many relationships throughout the film. We see Newt try and rekindle a slight relationship he had with his close friend Tina, seen in the first film. He spends the first long while of the film doing everything he can to find her, that included using a little magic. Once he finds her, they work together to find Credence. Now who’s Credence you ask? Well, that’s a question Credence is trying to solve himself. Throughout the film we see a young boy from an orphanage try and do everything he can to find his biological mother. He is determined to know his true last name. Even if that means revealing his dark powers we learned about in the first film. These dark powers result in Grindelwald being interested in tricking Credence and giving us one of the most confusing cliffhangers I’ve seen in a long time.

With all that being said, you can probably see the film has lots of confusing storylines that often had me a little lost while watching the film. I seemed to have left the theater with more questions than when I first got there. But, with all of that, and so much more, we left the theater with an unbearable cliffhanger, that has left fans dying to see how the next movie will continue. Although there are many readers that have read the books, I think we all know that Hollywood often changes their mind when it comes to making films based off of books. So, I would say buckle up because although same may know the next step after this film, there could possibly be some sharp unexpected turns throughout the continuation of the films.
